Clyde Port Radio broadcasting on Channel 16?

Hi

Does anyone else hear Clyde Port Radio broadcasting on Channel 16, as well as 12?

It only seems to be one of the operators, this weekend it was a young sounding, male voice. If I turn to 12, then I can hear both sides of the conversation. This is routine traffic, not an 'All Ships'.

I suspect that it must be a fault in my radio, as I would have thought that the Coastguard would have said something by now as I'm sure that I've heard this before.

My radio isn't set to dual watch, it's definitely on 16 only.

Not necessarily a fault.
If you were very close to the Clydeport transmitter, its possibly "break through", where one frequency breaks through into others. It can as easily be a fault in the transmitter as in your receiver.

I can't remember if I could hear it when in the Greenock / Helensburgh area, but I definately could whilst in my berth at Kip.

I realise that the fault could lie with the transmitter, but surely lots of other peeps would be complaining, esp the Coastie as there was a fair bit of chat.

I wonder if C_W was in Holy Loch for the Cowal Games - he usually has a couple of VHFs switched on.

Another question - Had lots of interference on 16 when passing Rosneath Point, in both directions - the radio mast I assume, rather than the de-gaussing cables.

My VHF isn't young, but seems receive / transmitt OK.
