looks like a real maelstrom. What direction was it blowing from? I'm having difficulty understanding why the waves in the marina were so vicious. Were the boats out on the moorings OK?
none of that nonsense were I am, couldn't even get on the trapeses on the F18 at the weekend!

That is scary. I've only sailed out of there once, but I agree, it's hard to imagine it being like that in there.

It looks like it's coming from the NE ish, down out of the Loch from the narrows. What's that then 1 - 1.5 mile of fetch? :shock:

No the wind was WSW and peaked somewhere between 60 & 70 knts.
LadyMac had to deal with it on her own, but Orla was well tied up with big long mooring lines, 10 fenders which did there job and crucially no breast lines so no shock loads, one of our big ball fenders burst.
I have seen so many cleats and fairleads ripped out this winter because of short breast lines...
