-20km? & someone else's car, why even ask? It'll only take 30 mins each way at a guess. Some people travel that far for a beer. See if the "Doctor" is at home.

Yes, lots of good pubs and restaurants and an excellent
Chart and Map shop. The trip out to Rottnest Island is worth doing, too.

Get yourself down to Freo and go here -

Don't take the car, take the train and have a few pints of Kikenny. If I managed to leave any impression on the Aussies, it was what
real beer tastes like!
Here's me sailing in Oz! None of this foul weather gear nonsense

That's some place ! Went with a work colleague in his car around lunchtime. He ended up phoning his wife to pick us up @ 10pm .... Nice place, good bars, excellent seafood and some very interesting characters
Highly recommend it.
As an aside, flew from Perth up to Karratha yesterday, to travel out to the rig and as I was boarding the plane I spotted a familiar face sitting a couple of seats away from me ....... then I realised it was my Uncle who I hadn't seen since 1992 !!! What are the chances of that then????

It's a small world right enough!
I didn't meet a family member, but one day I was walking along the main street in Perth when I got a tap on the shoulder.
"Excuse me, but did you work for BP in Aberdeen in the past?"
The guy recognised me from Dyce office, and I recognised him. We'd worked in different deparments and had never actually spoke to each other.
Passed through Karratha a few times on my way to the Goodwyn platform.
