Good afternoon,

I'm sure that after many requests from forumnites you won't mind me making this announcement here. I am delighted to announce that I will be taking Weather School ‘on the road’ on Saturday 5th March.

Sailing Weather School (Part 1) will be held at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 5th March 2011.

The aim of Sailing Weather Part 1 is to enable all sailors (from beginners to professionals) to make more use of weather forecasts, be able to predict conditions better for themselves, and to have a fuller understanding of weather charts. We cover subjects such as air masses, fronts, pressure systems, clouds, local winds and much more. For more information about what is covered see http://www.weatherweb.net/weatherschoolsailing.htm

The day is intensive but most enjoyable, to see what past delegates thought see http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217071

The course will cost £125 per person and this cost includes lunch and refreshments on arrival and through the day.

Places are limited and I am hopeful that this will be a popular course. So, to reserve and book your place now please visit
http://www.weatherschool.co.uk You can pay by credit card or Paypal. Alternatively call me on 01902 895252 or email simon@weatherweb.net

The RYSC have assured a verty warm welcome and I do hope that you will be able to join me on what I hope will be a wonderful day of preparation for the new sailing season.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With best wishes,
Simon

Would any of you central belt forumites be interested if Simon were to run one in the Edinburgh/Glasgow/Stirling sort of area?

I definately would!

Southampton is just a wee bit far from Aberdeen for a day trip.

Simon - would you be up for it?

If there is enough interest I'd be happy to run it.

I too would come along if Simon could make it to the NW England, I know, I know, this is the jockland forum, but still it would be nice to see him go on tour

Claymore is in your neck of the woods, half the jocks on here are ExPats anyway and there are even a few other full-blown sassenachs . . . so Simon, how many do you need to make it worthwhile and how much would it cost assuming free bed and board is available?

Failing that, I am sure we could organise a BlueMoment online weather school.

A good idea perhaps, but I have some problems (questions) that I am just not taking in from books that I hope Simon can explain in person with waving arms and a blackboard.

EDIT>> sounds like Preston might be a good location, or Preston Brook for it's motorway connections. I am sure the hotel at PB is regularly running conference days.

Hi Chaps,

What a great response, thanks...

Before I work out a cost, let's sort a location. Where's good for folks? Free board and lodging would be v welcome :)

Simon
