Weather School Musing...Gales - here we go again!

Hi everyone,

Here we go again then, more gales on the way for western areas tonight.
(see the strong winds dashboard lioghting up red at http://www.weatherweb.net/swisareasuk.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.weatherweb.net/swisareasire.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

The winds do ease quite quickly tomorrow in the south, although they are maintained in the west.

Interesting developments into this weekend too as low pressure moves into northern France. This brings gales through the Channel and along eastern coasts of the country, although it could then be the harbinger of good news as as the low clears into next week, high pressure may build from the west. We'll see eh?

Simon

Simon - thanks for the early warning about the weather coming towards the UK - we'll keep an eye out on our way up to Glasgow this weekend. Parts of the M6 near Tebay can get quite scary.

Galley Slaves - killing off perfectly good sailing threads since 2008

Can you no change the record Simon? I'm getting a tad pee'd off with great wodges of wind midweek fading away to b'ger all by Sunday. Must be the 3rd or 4th week of this. I'm racing on Sundays, if the mud of Port Edgar lets me out, and Marisca needs 12kts or more to have any chance of sailing near her handicap.
Bring back Heather, she used to give good forecasts!

That's 'cos it's cobbled north of Warrington.
