Apparently I am to get one of these for my annual notch up the old fart scale, and I have no idea which artists to take a look at. Do any of the learned fellows/fellowesses on here have good sailing pics or prints from people they might recommend?

Cheers,

Andy

Iain Sinclair will paint your boat for you if you want. I know Iain well , and he is a rather good artist ( it's worth seeing one of his pictures in the flesh, I am not sure the pics on his website are really true to his artistry - his watercolour technique is very fine).
Check out some of his pictures and prices at his website :

Geoff Hunt, who painted the covers of the Aubrey-Maturin books among others.

Cheers for those - I think Iain's style is more what I would go for....too much detail and the imperfections in the boat might be too obvious ;)

Personally I'd go for Turner.

Now - if you were really digitally inclined you could take the Fighting Temeraire and enhance it with an image of your boat.
This would cost you virtually nothing but Nick could manufacture an invoice for you for a considerable sum ( you say how much ) and then you could pocket the cash. I'd need a fee, naturally....http://www.davelevy.info/Downloads/wpap ... eraire.jpg
