Place in boiling water for a short dip, drain, add butter.
Eat

If it's really chard, you've probably cooked it for too long.
Throw it away.

Heat it in an old pot until it melts. It smells a bit so best do it outdoors. When it's all nice and runny, you coat your standing rigging with it, before wrapping the whole lot in canvas using a serving hammer.

Just ate some. It was a bit big and the leaves looked tough so we just ate the stalks - quite nice, a bit earthy.
