Mayday at Peterhead

A wee bit of drama around 8pm last night as I was sitting on Rosally in Peterhead Marina.
Mayday relay broadcast; small fishing boat "Alert" sinking and in danger of capsizing 1 mile NE of the breakwater, 1 person onboard. Lifeboat launched and Rescue 137 scrambled from Lossiemouth. Thankfully fishing vessel "Darcy Girl" arrived on the scene and the man managed to step from the bow of his vessel (which was the only part of the boat above the water) onto Darcy Girl.
"Alert" capsized soon after and was towed back to Peterhead harbour by the lifeboat.
Happy ending but very tense. Sunday evening, I was walking to the nearby garage and spotted a flare in approximately the same area. I had no phone and was too far from the boat to get to the VHF quickly. However, by the time I reached the garage the Lifeboat was on it's way through the breakwater. I don't know the story behind it as yet.
