The PBO subs run out mid year, we don't usually take the YM, Stormy mentioned somat about the cover catching her eye in WHS.

It makes a change looking through YM, the boats are even more unaffordable, big and glossy though.

Having read the article more fully, I see that So_Sage_of_Lorne is also a contributor.

I also read that Snooks is taking a 3 month sabbatical so that he can sail his Sadler in Scotland, so if you want your photo taken........

Let's hope that our Mobo cousins don't come roaring up behind him too closely - Snooks scare at work.

SWMBO asks if that is the spray on tanning agent. Midges never bother me as long as I have her near by, being sensible beasties they prefer to eat her rather than me.

I'm not sure if the tanning one does the business - one theory is that S so S works because the beastie can't get a grip on the greasy skin.

I'm not if women are bitten more often than men, but I do think that that they suffer more. I think that it's a female/female clash [of hormones?].

I have used odd dabs of other people's S so S over the years but never bought my own. Last night for the first time I looked at an Avon catalogue - there are lots and lots of apparently different potions all called S so S! So the question is which one's best for midgies? Anyone have the definative answer?

Interestingly, Avon always used to vehemently deny S so S's anti insect properties, but in their current catalogue they've an endorsement quote which says something like "... also it seemed to help keep the insects at bay." Maybe they're finally getting round to spotting a marketing opportunity - particularly if the suggestion that the little sods are starting to spread further east turns out to be correct.

I seem to remember having the same problem. I think that I landed up buying from The Green Wellie Shop at a tremendous mark up. I'll check the bottle though it's probably on the boat.

You might get a faster answer from those with 3 bottles.
