Since the beginning of WWII or as I like to call it the continuation of the Great War which is still being fought in one way or another today.
I am no historian, but I believe that history will record this as another 100 years war.
Anyhow, back-on-me-'ead.

Write out 100 times:
2010 - 91 = 1919

it was 91 years today since the start of the Paris peace conferences, culminating as the Treaty of Versailles, signed/launched in June 1919.
Possibly the most ill conceived document and treaty of the 20th century ?
Sorry if this is a dull thread, it is a subject I find sadly fascinating.

So no mishtake at all!
Agree with your assessment.
None the less, it's an assessment made with the benefit of hindsight.

It is true that the T of V has not had a great press: many do hold the view that it was an unfair treaty and parts of it in hindsight were unfair, for instance Germany being forced to take responsibility for the war.
On the other hand much of the treaty was old hat; the reparations and loss of territory were very similar to the conditions imposed on France by the Treaty of Frankfurt. Just another European treaty.
Interestingly the other Paris Treaties, Saint-Germain, Neuilly etc do not seem to have been quite so unsuccessful although the Greeks and Turks I think were unhappy with Sèvres.
But whats this got to do with boating ?
