Hi all again
jim.r came up with a question so here goes do I need to antifoul in fresh water
I thought that even fresh water you will get at least a green slime growning
below waterline as most of the time will be just tied up
thanks
alex

I already answered this - with a pic and everything - I must have pressed a wrong button!! Attempt 2.
We bought
Mistral on the hard at Kip. The previous owner had put on a new coat of antifouling ( salt water I assume ) before putting her up for sale. We bought in October 2002 and put on 2 1/2 coats of Blakes Broads before launching in April 2003. She stayed in the water until June 2007. My coats of antifoul had disappeared at the waterline, but was still there further underwater. There was slime but it came off with a pressure wash.

Well, my conclusion from looking at that photo, is that antifouling in Loch Lomond is completely unecessary!
