There is a thread on TOP http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219139 suggesting a get together on 11 Dec, with location under debate.

Of interest?

i start work at 10pm that night, so can`t drink and would have to leave almost as soon as i arrived, so no go for me i`m afraid.

Can't guarantee it, but we'd like to be there, wherever the final choice is. Trouble is, it's a bad time of year, what with the pubs being full of amateurs and stuff.

That is, of course, entirely correct. A pre-Xmas friday night isn't going to be quiet anywhere.

Regardless of how or whether the Buttlescutt do happens, how about we consider a New Year get together? If the principle is thought to be OK, and again going for a Friday, how would 8 Jan suit people as a starter?

Fine, as far as I know.

Wow! That'd be twice within a month....

And then there's Burns Night. See this sailing, fair fills up one's social calendar, so it does.

This is an even number of weeks after December 11th and so is also work-infested for me unless we meet eastcoastish - perhaps Auld Reekie for a change?

I can't get to Embra and back on the same day and get a decent session in as well... (winter weekend bus service)

Never averse to re-opening auld threads, let's have another go.

Taking into account the various constraints expressed by various people, how about a Glasgow meeting on Friday 29 Jan? (More post Burns than post Hogmanay, but if it suits more potential attendees...?)

The Buttlescut do seems to have finally settled on 1900 this Friday in the Edward Wylie.

To make sure this thread resurfaces, I am on for the 29th. Where? I remember the first Buttlescut Glasgow sippup because I couldn't find it!

We've been to the Bon Accord before - a proper pub, good beer and close to Charing Cross station. It was a bit too crowded pre-Christmas, hence the venue change, but should be OK end of January. Thoughts?
