Bravery of kids - a tribute to my best pal.

First of all, I have cross posted this onto another forum, appologies (and I will remove if requested) but it is something I found so toucjing that I had to share it.
My best friend from primary school finally lost a fairly short (6 months) but traumatic battle with cancer in the early hours of Monday (9th Novemeber). He has left behind a wife who adored him and the most beautiful 4 year old daughter (after years of unsuccesfully trying for a child and some heart breaking miscarriages along the way).
Paul and I, as I have said, grew up together and have shared some truly memorable "escapades" through our times hitch hiking around europe on a shoe string, climbing in the Cairngorms, crashing motorcycles etc. He was like a brother to me and was always there when I needed someone.
Anyway, back to the story. After the call to say that he had passed I drove over to collect his daughter while his father and wife dealt with the trauma and arrangements that had to be made.
On Monday I drove her to the beach as it was a glorious day as I thought this may take her mind off of things (as she knew her dad was very ill and she was aware that he had finally "gone to heaven").
Whilst building a sand castle, Rebecca spotted a rainbow in the distance, stopped what she was doing and said " Look Uncle Ron , my dad has made us a rainbow". With that she blew an almighty kiss and aimed it up at the rainbow, with a huge smile,
It was all I could do not to break down and cry like a baby. (I am not her biological Uncle but that's what she calls me)
Last night we sat in the kitchen while she painted the most elaborate picture of a rainbow that she is going to "post to heaven for her Daddy".
I am in awe at the bravery she shows and the matter of fact way she has of looking at things, whilst still so totally doting on her Dad.
I am not sure why I am writing this on here, maybe it is 'my way of posting to Paul up in heaven' but I felt I had to share what I found to be an utterly amazing display of undoubting faith from Rebecca that her Daddy was indeed watching over her.
Paul, you never did get the sail on my new boat that we'd always promised ourselves but you will always be there with me whenever I am on her and I know you'll always be watching over us and making sure I don't screw anything up, as usual.
Cheers mate, for always being there whenever I needed you. You know Jackie and Rebecca will never want for anything as long as I live.
God bless you pal.
