YM this month and yes - another bleeding article about the Magician of the blasted Swatchways and a whole diatribe of sycophantic fekking nonsense - cut and pasted from the last blasted article that was written about him and his bloody east coast mudholes.
What a blasted waste of money that damned rag has become.
So - I can only suppose that Dick (well named) Durham is much older than he looks and was actually splatching with the late Magician.
Magic.

Not sure we can allow references to splatching especially wrt a living person. I'll have to consult the site owner I'm afraid.

What is splatching? Is it the same as Jobbie Jabbin'?

you'll be lucky .. he's engaged in another climate discussion elsewhere. for one of his stature, he moves fast to avoid a "Dunstaffnage" after libelling a meteorologist a maverick etc etc

I administer another forum. As part of doing so, I used a replace feature, which removes unsavoury words and replaces them with things more benign.
I was taken aback when I saw one person referring to turning off the Seawilly after going to the loo.

They've found a new dodge for increasing circulation. Snooks keeps PMing me to say that they're going to use a pic of Silkie in the Reader's Boat section so I go out and buy the rag only to discover that it's not this month. He probably does it to everyone who posted in the readers' boats thread.

libelling a meteorologist
I think you mean labelling . . .
As to the possibility of manlove between two yachting greats - well, I don't really see how in these enlightened times that could be seen as libellous, so it will probably remain until I get the lawyers letter.

It might not be defamatory these days but I imagine it might still make your eyes water a bit.

OK . . .
As you all know there is a sweary filter on here which produces such delightful euphemisms as scottish excrement . . . taking Alcyone's suggestion and Silkie's concerns on board I was all set to insert a suitable term to cover all conceivable references to uphill gardening but when I got to the point I was buggered if I could come up with a suitable euphemism.
So - there's your challenge, what delicate euphemism can I put in the swear filter that will in future tastefully overwrite Claysie's somewhat reckless mention of the Branston and Puddock's use of a more familiar but no less graphically thrusting metaphor. Answers here by Friday please, lavish prizes may be awarded (but probably won't be, so don't get your hopes up).
