Electric Anchor Winch

I am looking for an electric anchor windlass capable of handling 3/8" short link chain to replace my SL manual winch .

I'd give you mine but on the rare occassions it works (as we enter an anchorage) it never fails to put a smile on my face - until the 5m mark, when I help Caroline flake it................... then look on sympatheticallly as she hoists it, offering to help .... but the tide is pulling us..

Thanks for your interest , if you ever decide to replace your anchor winch I shall be interested in acquiring the old one ; who knows I might be able to fix it being an inveterate tinkerer. Trying to recover 50 m of chain one windy morning in July while anchored at Lochaline finally convinced me I needed an anchor winch. My home base is Granton but I usually bring my boat to the west for May , June and July.

My old ( still working) SL Something or other electric windlass is for sale in the Boat Store, Oban..... Complete with gypsy, controls etc. Only thing missing is the circlip that locks the shaft in place.

would you sell me the gypsy of that SL francis 800 (if it suits a 3/8" high tensil G4 chain)??? or do you know of any?
