BLUEMOMENT

Anyone else get caught out in the storm last Thursday.
I was taking a friend out on his first sailing trip, we were passing through the sound of Raasay when it passed over us. Heavy rain, , lightening and thunder, lasted for about thirty minutes, and although soaked I wasn't hit, unlike these unfortunate folk on Loch Ness...

no but was doing the round mull race last weekend and on friday, got caught in lightning and heavy rain between lismore and carignure. my 19 year old nephew was on board (first time sailing) and he asked "isn't it dangerous to be on a boat on the water during a lightning storm?"
we suggested that he take his hand off the backstay

Yep, got that one as well on the way home on the Friday, lightning, hailstones and winds up to 40 knots. Had spend the day chasing the wind and decided to give up and do some fishing instead. Put the sails away, got out the fishing gear, just about to reach my favorite fishing grounds when it arrived.
Anyway my friend has said that he will give it another go sometime but he won't commit himself just yet!
This is us heading home.
