On The Subject of Books...

My memory banks a pretty low - and actually remembering things aint getting any easier!
I read a book many years ago which was a true story of a man and his young wife who, with no knowledge of boaty things, bought a small fishing boat in (I think) Skye - just after WW2 and proceeded to spend a summer meandering round the west coast, including Tobermory, Loch Etive etc. It was a good story wonderfully told.
Specifically can remember he had trouble with the diesel engine and a local worthy on Skye almost rebuilt it for him.
Anyone give me a title and or author?
