Quite possibly a record for Port Ramsay but I believe four were seen in Cardingmill Bay three weeks ago.

True, but that was by design, rather than accident. I think we need TCM to draw up some suitably obscure rules.

Take your point but not sure how remarkably accidental this one was since you and cpedw were both within biscuit toss of your home berth.

Remarkably accidental indeed, as the original anchorage of choice proved less than ideal in the squally circumstances, hence the retreat to the holding heaven/haven of the aforesaid Port Ramsay.

How would I know about it then?
Afaik I am the first to drag it right around the Isle of Mull, and no one has said otherwise, yet.

as i recall you were the first to record the 4 burgees flying at cumbrae as well. i just thought you might be the official forum burgee spotter

I'm assured that length isn't everything. We did get along to L Spelve on Sunday eveing. Went into the westernmost leg, where we've not been before. It was a dreich (sp?) evening and morning, low cloud, mist and steady light rain.
We went ashore but found little of interest except a Burial Ground. It's only about 1/2 full and nothing dating from earlier than about 1930 as far as we could see. Since there's little habitation for miles around, apart from a small fish farm, it seemed a strange place to have located it. Anybody have any idea why it's there?
