A nice piece of wood

Or a piece of nice wood!

A previous owner of Rowana had covered a couple of holes in the cockpit bulkhead left by some previous instruments with a nice piece of wood. He had fixed this by one screw in the middle at either end.

Unfortunately, this piece of wood, which is in full sunlight, has warped considerably due to not being fixed top and bottom.

I'm now looking for a replacement, but I'm going to fix it ar all 4 corners so that it doesn't warp again.

The piece in question is 12.5 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and about 5/16 inch thick.

Anybody got a piece of something suitable in their garage/workshop?

The sizes could be slightly larger, but not smaller.

I should have something nice for you in my garbage (garage).
I will have a look tomorrow and get back to you.
I will post it to you if I have a peice nice enough, I know there will be some there that size, probably some Mahogony, Teak or Iroko.
It will be free of charge.

PS Does it matter if it is slightly thicker or thinner?

Rowana, here are some of the peices I have, they are all different sizes but I could get a peice cut down to your sizes.
The peice on left is Mahogony and there is some Teak and Oak.
The Set square in pic is 12"x6"

As I've said in my PM, any bit that is at least 12 1/2" by 4 1/2" to cover the holes will be fine.

Much appreciated
