Why do you have the downhaul going direct to the pole, but the uphaul to the bridle? I would have thought either have both direct to the pole, or use both bridles to minimise bending the pole?

I did say it should be t'other way up, as did t'other crew, but FC insisted he was correct and since he had brought the blocks and string we let him get on with it.

When he later tried to persuade us that this was also a good idea we realised we should have over-ruled him.

I thought that the important bit was that the pole was rigged such that the end fittings sat this way up

IIRC my pole has a bridle only on one side and central fix on t'other but I can't remember which is top ( I haven't yet undertaken the Silkie Own Boat Kite Flying Tuition Course)
