I had endless hours of fun discussing the Espace all those years ago.
Well, the Espace was given the bum's rush a couple of years back and replaced with an Ovlov which is rather fine.

Dear Heart has now purchased an Audi TT for herself. I am slightly concerned that she did not require planning permission for this - particularly as I am struggling for approval for the proposed replacement autopilot and wondered if others amongst us suffer similar levels of inequality and unfairness?

Wedding Contract

If you read the small print of the wedding contract you will find that if the lady of the house 'needs' something - hair straighteners, hair dryer, or anything else then it can be purchased without consultation. However if the male side of the so called partnership needs something, say a tiny shackle for something on the boat, it must be discussed in full for several weeks, after which time permission might be granted.

Aye, I hereby spent the last few days preparing the house galley for the fitting of a new one, but have to make do with removing and resealing the old ports on HB as opposed to buying new ones.
My good lady always maintains, "What is hers is hers, and what is mine is also hers"
But I still say I have been happily married for three years, and thats not bad out of twenty years marriage.

look here, ahm trying tae help. Firstly, call upon the advice (within DH's hearing) of a friend to denigrate the existing; i got jimi to rubbish my sails and that worked particularly the argument (true as it happens) that it'd reduce the time of a x-channel passage by .. erm .. 3 hrs.

Nooo, the problem yoose hae, ma shun, is that DH could well enjoy steering yer tub and fitting an auto-pilot might be seen as deprecating hur efforts in that regard? So, suggest a hydrovane self steering and you imply that the extra rudder would reduce the steering effort - a bit like power assissted steering and with yon Audi yoose can demonstrate that to great effect by switching ra engin aff at 70mph with DH at the wheel. So, she's noo hooked and jist draw ra fush in when yoose discover that thur's nae yin hydrvane fer yer tub but ... lo ... thur's yin here (the wan ye want) which is self steering with orra benefits of ra ither thing an onyway we nivver sail her onyway ...
