It's not apparently rooted in any one historical period, features aggressive yetis and the ending is a bit James Bond.
Samarcand (I thought it was spelled with a k)

Duly ordered! (At £1.10 + £2.75 post. How do they do that?)

Well, mine is paperback, but claims to be new. Again, how do they do that?

I dunno, I've always been puzzled by the Amazon listings. I suppose if it's a title you've identified as "concrete" on your stock list then anything you can get for it is better than nothing and will free up space for more popular/profitable titles.
PS - I hope you ordered through Nick's link rather than the one Pete put up?

Whoops!!!!!

I'm afraid I was lazy and just used Pete's link.
Sorry!
I'll try to remember next time. I don't use Amazon as much as I should - when I ordered yesterday I had to change my address, and the house move was a year ago!
