During my recent exploits in France working my macwester28 i discovered that it was the first built.

Hull no.1

Is this an advantage? should i preserve her or modify as i intend?

Anyone got any views on this....please

A first edition sounds pretty good to me.

Modify - it's not a Grade 1 listed building!

probably developed quite a bit since then, upgrade and improve.
Unless of course, they got it right first time!

They made several significant mods to GMIV in the recent rebuild, so if they can happily change a boat of significant historic importance then I would say it's your boat, do what you want with it.

Just being cautious

Yes the boat is mine, and not of great historical signifigance, just wondered what others thought before i completely remodel the interior to something more useable, both at sea and harbour life.

As i intend to take an extended voyage next summer, whilst still young enough to really enjoy it, and a comfortable home is needed otherwise i know i will stop after a few weeks with the restricted space onboard with the original design.

Selling is not an option, route is still to be decided either the canals of france to med and back, or round the outside.

cheers mike

keep it for a couple of months and then you'll be able to trade it in for a dozen half finished Bavarias!
