Bin collections

Nick, what day does the cooncil collect your green bin?

Cos, while you're at it, you might as well chuck this one in as well: Six Degrees by Mark Lynas.

And which bin does this one go into: Awfully quiet on TOP re. bank nationalisation plans . . .?

Incidentally, I hate to remind folk about this, but wasn't it heavy handed moderating of one of Simon's threads that caused the big stushie on YBW in the first place?

You ARE at a loose end this morning, aren't you?

The stushie on YBW was because someone complained about Simon's alleged 'advertising' if I recall. I don't see any connection between that stushie and the one you are trying to raise here.

Are you JackJ by any chance??

No, Nick, he isn't. What he is is someone with a mature outlook towards censorship on the web.
For those who are a bit lost well, I posted yesterday afternoon explaining my solution to the gasguzzling propensity of my 52, expressed my delight that this forum has a large population of Scots, and, living 89 days of the year in Cowes and thus not being in contact with many Scots, asked forumites for their reaction to the bailout of RBS and HBoS. There was nothing offensive, rude or crude in that post.
This morning Nick edited my post so that it makes totally different sense and, later deleted it altogether.
Perhaps Nick could put my post back up so others can see if its offensive.
It appears that Nick has taken against me because I own a motor yacht and something in his psyche means he can't bear to have intercourse with someone like me. Fair enough. I'm old and wise enough not to worry about little things like that. I do, however, worry about administrators editing posts on forums to alter their meaning and then deleting them altogether.

Still here?

The text of your post is gone, confined to the bin where it belongs.

Your comment about Scottish banks was in my opinion both provocative and racist, the latter being sufficient reason for me to delete your post.

You appear to have joined this (sailing) forum for no other reason than to attempt to wind people up. You have succeeded, and as a consequence your post has been removed at the judgement of the moderator, me, for reasons explained above. If you don't like the way I run the forum then your options are obvious.

Now, perhaps you would care to phrase your question about Scottish banks in slightly less provocative terms.

Thanks for your prompt reply Nick.

In no way was my question about RBS and HBoS racist and I don't see how it could be classed as provocative too !!!!

You know as well as everyone else that anything posted can always be retrieved. Perhaps for the sake of sanity you could repost it (without any of your editing) so others can see what I said and judge for themselves.

Bye the Bye I intend to cruise my Fairline around your way next Summer (never been north of the wall). Perhaps, in a gesture of conciliation, I might extend an invitation to your goodself to come aboard and enjoy a few days of the goodlife on a top of the range cruiser. Might change your mind about us lot?

Not so

Not so. This forum uses PHPBB2. Once a post or thread is deleted it is gone from the database. It would of course be available from a database backup, but at the moment these are made manually and infrequently.

So sorry Jack but no, I cannot restore your post for others to judge, and even if I could I would feel under no obligation to do so.

Now kindly rephrase your original question about the reaction of Scots to the bank bailout scuppering independence prospects in a less provocative way and I am sure someone will engage you in a serious discussion about it. (Shard is our economics expert, in addition to being in charge of protesting about high handed moderation on this forum).

SWMBO and I would be delighted to take you up on your offer of a high speed blast through our favourite haunts, subject to you taking care not to upset any WAFIs with your humungous wake. In return we could reciprocate with a wet and tippy blast down the Sound of Jura in our tiny and elderly rag and stick contraption.

you`re clasping a viper to your bosom nick, i wouldn`t give him houseroom. while i may not agree with much of what he says i will defend to the utmost his right to say it - on TOP.
it`s just like the pub. if there was someone like that in the pub every time you went and the landlord did nothing, how long would you continue to patronise the pub ?
as for his invitation to board his luxury yacht - have a quick word with george osbourne before you make the decision on whether to take him up on that one
btw i agree with your interpretation of his scottish question post - a :troll: pure and simple - which was why i didn`t rise

Go on then, say it again if you can remember your wording.

Eh?

Philip,

I take it the first line of your post is intended to be a quote??

If you highlight it and click the Quote button it will make it more obvious, ot at least put it in inverted commas. It is a bit confusing as it is.
