the sisterhood reckon that if women had been running Wall St, this crunch wouldn't have happened although this message from more sensible spokesperson at Women HQ has been modified such that we shoould now understand that to mean if an equal number of women had been running Wall St. The premise is that women would blunt the worst excesses and I can believe that if, and only if, there's an approximate equal representation.
However, the pursuit of risk is essentially egotistical and selfish which are characteristics more likely in a male individual and without that pursuit of risk, would mankind have advanced as far as it has?

Not at all, never been more sober. although, I might have had a Greenmoment moment.
We're, apparently, prepared to accept enormous risks with our financial systems and environment simultaneously. Seems a peculiarly anglo-saxon trait?

these are much depleted since an avowed non-whisky drinker got his paws on mah liquid assets ... mind, according to both Peston & the ither twat on Newsnight tonight, thon's nae the only liquid asset aboot tae be depleted tomorrow. at a time when calm deliberation is necessary, even essential, huving thon twa teenage scribblers preaching this shoyte is lethal
