BLUEMOMENT

The mast arrived and we went for an acceptance sail. Sails OK. back at the dock the surveyor went up the mast. HORROR! the cap shrould was not properly attached! Without the survey I might have taken the boat, and tacking from port to starboard (slack to tight) eventually would have caused a surprise!. Hatches were checked for water tightness- yes they leaked! saloon blinds (at a cost of $2000) don't fit. Nav seat missing, wardrobe doors warped, shower fitted the wrong way- door opens outwards so water flows out!Boat now 5 months late. Will it ever be right??

How rare it is to hear a tale of a new boat built to order that was on time with no serious problems. Even if we won the lottery I think we would go for a second hand boat where someone else had fixed all the yard cock-ups and added all the bits the builders hadn't thought necessary.

Hope this is the last round of disasters and that you can forget the nightmares and just enjoy the boat when it is finally sorted.
