Ball cocks to you as well

.
'Where' usually implies a place name, not some obscure form of grid reference. If you can't be bothered giving answers in the form asked for then you can't expect to get any marks - particularly if you don't show your working.

Would you bother checking to find out if I was correct if I gave you the answer to this one as a bearing and distance off from Ben More, or are you perhaps looking for the place name?

Sounds like a great idea! Go ahead.

No turd will be left unstoned.

Eigg?

(Although the way the thinly disguised sexual tension between Shard and Nick is building I'm wondering if it's Brokeback Mountain in the Background?)

Mrs Windfinder says that Eigg was close enough, so there!

She's right. Eigg's about 5 or 6 miles away. Different island as well, but who am I to split hairs? 8)

I know. I had some association with the new ferry pier and the blasting of the widening of the approach through the nasty rocks. I remember that the pilotage was very tricky going both in and out, having to line up the cottage with the horizon?. On two occasions, I saw rocks closer to the boat than they should have been, quite some distance out. The new way in is so much easier, although I think that the new pier spoils the anchorage a little, (but has improved life on the Island, as has, presumably the (noisyish) wind turbine)

A little? A little? It ruined it!

Want new pier?

The new piers at Eigg and Muck could well qualify for a west Highland joint eighth Wonder of the World. Marvellous feats of engineering, at least on a par with the Three Gorges dam.

BTW, we heard that the new super dooper pier at Port Askaig may not be suitable for the ferry in certain tide conditions. This cannot possibly be so. Can it?

I disagree. That possibility must rest with the lovely grass-roofed conveniences on the new pier at Inverie!

How the planners allowed the disfiguration of the beautiful little bay on Eigg by a causeway to the pier is sadly a reflection of the state of our governance. Aquatic badgers, bats or newts would have seen it off. (Come to that where were the otters?). There is now a place to dry out however.

Am I going crazy? Apparently work has been in progress for 2 years yet I saw nothing when I visited in the Spring.

This is Loch Nevis, Knoydart, yeah?

My understatement. One might substitute "a little" by "completely and utterly" but I didn't want to offend anyone. :)

The very same! I was there during the 2nd week in July this year..all looking ship shape. The presence of the new pier did not, however, stop a helicopter delivering 3 cwt of back up AGM batteries from Malaig for the hydro power plant. "The ferry from Malaig takes tool long, I'm told", the pilot said. He had come from Inverness. It transpired that the new battery posts were not quite the same and there was a prospect of having to fly to Fort William for some washers. Nice day out..it was really sunny. 8)
