Having read the stuff about the Lochranza Pontoon and the visitor moorings in Oban Bay, can anyone tell me what it costs to use the new pontoon at Tobermory?

If I want to lie alongside for an hour at lunchtime will they charge me for a whole day?

Charge is £2.25 per metre, with them happy to round down rather than up (for us anyway - 8.23m charged as 8m, £18 per night)

This is expensive - more than either Kerrera (Oban Marina) or Dunstaffnage.

Electric is included, but showers are £2.00 and the building is only open from 08.00 to 21.00 . They charge 20p to get into the toilets as well - although at the moment this is an honesty box they intend to fit a turnstile. Someone has obviously misled them about the habits of yachtsmen, as there are four showers but only two crappers in the male bogs. There are laundry facilities.

WiFI is available in the Sea Adventures office for £2.50 (one-off charge)

Moorings are £13 per night, and anchoring is still free but with restricted space and deep water.

Welcome to the forum Alan.

Thanks, Nick, I suspect they might round my 8.8 metres to 9.

For an overnight I would be more likely to use Loch Drumbuie, but it would be handy not to have to blow up the dinghy to go ashore at Tobermory if there was, say, an hourly rate for using the pontoon.

We came alongside for an hour to do some shopping a couple of weeks ago and told the harbourmaster what we were doing. He didn't charge us at all, so I think they will be pretty reasonable about this.
