'Alauda' at Dunstaffnage

Just heard today that a Westerly Pageant, Alauda is moving from Ardlui to Dunstaffnage next week.
Please say 'Hi' to the owner, Dougie, if you see him.
I don't know if he'll be on a mooring, or a berth. He's used both at Ardlui.

Will do.
When can we expect Mistral?

Cheers, IIRC Dougie lives in your corner of the country. I don't know how often he'll be up, he hasn't used the boat much in the last couple of years, busy moving house etc. He's been on courses on the West coast.
Beginning to doubt my spelling, but sure it's Alauda (a lark), not Aluada (crazy in portugese).

Don't know, not immediate. I think that we would want to be able to spend more than a weekend, ie retirement or semi-retirement. I've suggested to Joan that she only minds the children of teachers/lecturers so we could take the summer off!

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but as a newly registered forum member I thought I'd say hello and let you know that Alauda is now in Banff marina on the Moray coast, having been bought from Dougie last October and brought round via the Caledonian Canal. Roll on the better weather!

Welcome aboard Mike. No apology required. I'm very fond of some of the old threads on here.

Indeed. We noticed that on Friday night. Shouldn't there be some sort of forum dress code?
And, hi Flobbetts!

By yourself?
With friends, and in stages - first stage from Dunstaffnage to Caley Marina (four days). Then most of a day to get out of the canal and round to Inverness Marina. Next stage, along to Lossiemouth, and finally Banff. Good fun apart from the logistics of aligning tides, weather, my time and my friends' time!
Thanks for the friendly welcome,
Mike

Welcome Mike.
If you come round the corner to Peterhead at any time, please call in. You might even get a cup of tea!

Many thanks for the invitation Jim, we might well take you up on that sometime!
Our son did his dinghy level 2 course with Angie at Peterhead Sailing Club last summer.

Hi Mike
I'm glad to hear thar
Alauda is being used.
Do you know if Dougie has a replacement, or has he given up on boat ownership.
We were in Banff, by car, between Christmas and New Year -

My Mam lives in Keith, so will keep a look out for you when we're next in the North East.
Welcome to the forum.

Dougie told me that he was selling Alauda to fund a (half?) share in a Westerly Konsort.
Glad he did, we love her dearly and no longer have any problem deciding what to do with our disposable income...
Let us know if you're around Banff and we'll try and get across to see you (we live about 20 miles south).

Is that Turriff or thereby?
I live in Oldmeldrum myself, although I keep Rowana in Peterhead.

Very near you, Jim, St Katherines, on the way to Fyvie. It's a small world...

Hi,
Just by chance came across this web site as I had a rare minute to myself and wondered if there was anything about Alauda online. I have often wondered how my girl was doing...sounds like she is getting the love she deserves. Nice to make contact with Ash...are you still at Ardlui?
After selling Alauda I did indeed buy a 1/4 share in Westerly Konsort and have had a few great years at Dunstaffnage. I now live in France but have kept part share as it is worth going back to the west coast once a year. The Konsort was sadly grounded and written off last year ( not by me!) so we are looking for a replacement. Fave option is a Fulmar...
Anyway nice to be a part of what seems a friendly forum.
Keep me posted with news on Alauda!
Best,
Dougie
