Back afloat!

Avilion is back in :D but I've not left the pontoon yet :(
The new main looks very pretty, but is horribly stiff and a right sod to handle compared with its soft and friendly - albeit 16 y.o. - predecessor. To add to the fun the new slugs don't run in the track very freely - I believe the recommended fix is a squirt of Mr. Sheen (unless someone has a better suggestion?) The new "Stackpack" style cover is also on and looks VERY red - a couple of years should see it faded into a less flamboyant shade. Sea trials of the secret weapon next weekend, hopefully ...

It's a nice feeling. Never tried Mr Sheen, but sounds like a good idea. I've used WD40 and it usually seems OK for a few months.

See you on ra Cruise.

I've a cousin who is a skilled mechanic and he swears by silicone spray for all manner of jobs. H recently got my electric windows to work on the ageing rover with a few well aimed squirts.

Me too. Significant hassle with the new forestay (shades of last year) meant that sails couldn't be bent on Sunday and an excess of wind on Monday meant that they're not on yet. I'd be quite happy though, if I could just find the "safe place" where I stashed the screws I need to re-attach some interior woodwork.

I do like that moment when she floats free of the slings.
