North Africa, August 1942. Two soldiers from Irvine doing their duty.
One turns to the other and says "Have ye no' realised whit day it is? It's the Marymass Fair back hame!" His pal looked around, thought for a moment, and replied, "Christ, they've certainly got guid weather for it."
