If you have difficulty spotting that someone has sent you a PM, go to your Profile (at the top of every page) and set Notify on new Private Message to Yes.
Your friends will thank you for it.

Oops.------ Maybe it could change colour if there's business afoot, or - dare I say it - blink a flag like TOP. Anyway , must stop chattering and open my incoming PM box.
