1/. sunbird, ardrossan have 1978 claymore for sale - £38k. nice tartan carpets! and reasonable inventory.
2/. dickies, bangor have 1984 claymore for sale - £25k. 2 heads ( one en suite ), reasonable inventory.
one of these yachts, you would think, has been wrongly priced.
are the tartan carpets worth £13k ? is the en suite head a £13k drawback ?
perhaps both prices are off the mark. any views, anyone ?

Hmm
I think the Dickies one looks a bit rough and unloved which might account for its low price.
There was one for sail in Spain last year for 17K but it did look dog rough.
The 38K one I'm not too keen on as they seem to have messed about with the joinery.
I think its about £3k too expensive anyway.
Sgeir found it and posted the pic they are using on Sschufflebum a few weeks ago - cheeky sods have used my pic!
I chartered a Jura 35 - Star of Jura - I think it was called - in about 1985. It was at Rhu and was based on a Colvic. It had lovely Tartan Carpet which I found quite restful.
We have tartan cushions.

i`m not knocking the carpet. unfortunately i had to choose between a tartan carpet in the lounge and the wife a few years ago. keep wondering if i made the right decision.
if the dickies claymore could be got for c £22.5k it could be a bargain then. would the en-suite head in the aft cabin be standard or retro fit ?

What happened to the one we looked at in Kip Marina a year ago?

The heads are situated to port off the main saloon, encroaching into the cockpit - to fit one in the aft cabin seems a bit of a nonsense - I can see how it could be done but it would spoil what is quite a good living space.
Don't know what became of the boat in Kip.

Carsaig Bay - across the isthmus from Tayvyallich.
Enter and hang first left. Clear water of course and good holding with plenty of kelp-free sand/mud.
assh.....

I feel obliged to point out that LBB's post refers to a post that has been deleted, along with its phenteramine-peddling user . . . he is not talking to Claymore

Eh?

Does phenteramine-peddling make you go uphill faster?

I see they've stopped using the pic of Claymore's Claymore Claymore now.

I phoned up and complained that they hadn't asked my permission and that it was causing me some distress as all these bluemomenters were constantly pestering me with handsfull of readies demanding that I sell to them and sticking me with the Sale of Goods Act by saying that I had to release the dear boat for the stated price (thus intimating that I thought I could get a lot more).
Anyway - going back to the main reason for writing - Little Boy Blue my velvet encapsulated, cushion mounted, arachnaphobic sheep chasing, goldenlocked, trumpet playing, silverbuckled wee blimey - what have I done to become the adopted son of Mr and Mrs Head and rechristened Richard?
