Mab owners possibly??

I was talking to the lads that run the local 'Pleasure trip' boats which are being spruced up for the season. They use heavy grade roofing felt as non-slip on their foredecks where the trippers step aboard. Sounds horrendous I know BUT when it's painted with a few coats of paint it is extremely difficult to tell that it is not 'pukka' expensive non-slip from the yacht jewellers.
They say it lasts for a few years, and that's with scores of people tramping over it with big boots on every day the trip boats are working. (all summer 7 days a week) They cut the felt to fit and use bitumastic based adhesive, then a few coats of paint to match the deck and take the 'sharpness' off. Not for posh yachts perhaps, but easier than paint and sand if you're headed that way.
