Do you think this is big enough? This was small bit of boat that was lifted. Mid sections of bulk carriers are lifted and moved across the yard to welded onto other boat sections. The yard is Samsung Heavy Industries, Goje, Korea. There are fabrication shops with whole bridge sections, bow sections, stern sections and the sections in between, that get moved to the assembly areas. The sections come out the fabrication shops, painted, fully fitted out, with all terminations to next section run. Apparently the technique was developed in the UK at the Clyde Shipyards but could not be optimised due to space constraints on the Clyde.
