Good morning everyone,

What glorious weather, but will it last?

I’m trialling a new way of presenting the forecast through Weatherweb.TV and have uploaded a video for sailing for the week ahead.

Go to http://www.weatherweb.tv and let me know what you think. Only disadvantage I can see if the time taken to load the video files, but I am sure this can be overcome (suggestions welcome). The graphics should be much clearer.

As you can see, things are developing at Weatherweb.TV so thanks again for all your encouragement and support!

I like the new format, although the sound was very crackly.

Just to check, I played your intro video again, and the sound was fine.

Thanks Jim....yes, need to sort the micophone out...the intro was through YouTube so a different broadcats format, they seem to favour audio auality over video quality (a bandwidth decision I guess).

i found this format much easier to folllow and understand. really good. the female forecasters on tv whose tits obscure the nw of scotland are a distraction.

In the environs of Oxford the weather forecasters are obviously better endowed.
The ones we have tend to be plump of figure and so much of Wales is often obscured. Which is of absolutely no consequence to my good self as I don't often go there.

Excellent forecast format as you note.

Thank goodness it is the wuality of the forecasts you're bothered about, not the presenter...I'd be out of a job

I agree with Parahandy on this one Simon, I found it easy to understand and follow too,it was excellent. Once the forecasts get awash with details I lose track and start looking at the presenter. So, either put in loads of detail..and sign up 'Jordan' or keep it simple. :

Excellent Simon apart from the sound as has already been mentioned. Particularly liked the thoughtful pauses in the script at the end of each section so I could pause the vid to study the chart.

Wind is obviously what interests us most but perhaps more mentions for visibilty? I'm assuming that you would do this by exception at the moment (i.e. if it was significant) for coastal fog etc. Or perhaps your areas are too big for this to be meaningful?

We don't get fog in Scotland.

Can you ask Simon if he does the equivalent of a grib file. Being a technical retard I don't know if the windy arrows are the same thing and my technical guru P,handy is no speaking to me at present.

I can download grib files onto the nav software and this helps me see if I'm beating.

I liked the weather forecast, nothing to add that others haven't except perhaps, do you have access to a top heavy lady presenter? I'm not really interested in what's happening in Wales and if the view is good, Scotland isn't that interesting either.

I seem to remember beating up the Sound of Mull on a Chents cruise, thrashing Avilion - I think you were there....is your memory not whit it was?

There is no question but that my memory is not what it once was.

However, I do not believe it fails me when I recollect that the main thrashing, on the day, came from Claymore's engine room.

If Simon continues to post the weekend weather on here (which we sincerely hope he does) then it will be upgraded to an Announcement by me or Silkie and so will stay at the top of this forum until the next forecast comes along. That way everyone will know where to find it.

Later we may open a new weather-specific forum if people think it is a good idea.

Speaking as a mere Sasenach novice (ish) I would have tought that a Weather forum would be apropriate.

Maybe not at the bottom of the page so folks don't have to scroll down to find it.
