Yotlinx

.
Just had a long chat with David Morrish of Yotlinx.

It's not immediately obvious what Yotlinx is . . . but essentially it is a way for groups of people to organise boating events. This could be - for example - a couple looking for three other couples to charter a 50ft cat in the BVI

Or it could be a local sailing club looking to organise a race or a regatta . . .

Or it could be used to organise a cruise in company . . .

In fact, the intention is that it can be used to organise just about any kind of sailing event you can imagine.

Unlike the great mass (mess?) of yachting or crewfinder sites out there set up in the hope of making a quick buck from advertising :rotfl: this one seems to be offering something genuinely different and useful.

All events on Yotlinx are open to public viewing but only members can organise their own events. Membership is by subscription but is not expensive. There is a press release in the PR forum below, and if you have a minute I would encourage you to go and have a look at the site. I am sure David would welcome any feedback.

Maybe you should see how he fares with sorting out crews on yats for the proposed Clyde weekend?
my attendance is not looking likely as I will hopefully be on Grandpa duties.

Claymore old chap, it's the start of the slippery slope is that.

When I started sprogging it was made perfectly plain that my old folks were more than willing to do whatever they could out of season. During the sailing season they had done their bit bringing us up. It seemed fair at the time.

Claymore,
I have a travel cot, and a baby lifejacket, together with a wee oilies bag to wrap the wee mite in.
My son had his first cruise at 3 weeks and yacht race when he was 20 months.

He wont come on the boat now except when its flat and the sun is shining. Should I recognise some symptoms?

Tricky one this - with the Sprog living in Denmark and the offspring having no respect for her Father's well-deserved leisure time I'm just not quite as in control as I'd like to be.
