I have travelled thousands of miles and navigated safely throughout aided by my trusty GPS linked Laptop
An ageing friend of mine - Parahandy (who else!) decided to get rid of my navigation software and replace it with his.
This worked OK through the Crinan Canal and we even managed to get down the Clyde to Troon. It was raining in Troon and so the Great One felt he had to leave us to continue his research into his soon to be published paper - "Swimming Pools and their contribution to the endangerment of the common hedgehog"
The navigation package managed a further day and we arrived in Whitehaven, whereupon, rather like the aforementioned Hedgehog - it expired.
The Boat has sat these past 6 weeks in Whitehaven rather than its home port of Fleetwood.
Do I have a legitimate claim in that should PH be meeting my marina costs?

Think the govt should be meeting yer asylum bills if ye've stayed a month and a half in Whitehaven

The noble Lord Claysie has, typical, got the title of my learned paper which is due to be presented at the upcoming Fleetwood YC wrong! My research is to encourage hedgehogs to swim and replace depleted stocks of crustaceans & fush in the oceans of the world. I have to admit having a hand in the latter ... snigger ... !

I can reveal that my experimental research blends the monogamous habits of the animal with sticking polystyrene onto its prickly bits. With a B&Q foam gun, polystyrene foam is applied to the 'hog's body and it's chucked in. Mrs Tiggywinkle immediately follows. Not knowing which sex is which for the first chuck doesn't seem to matter - the spouse always jumps in too and this serves to allay any fears the hog might have.

After a while, the 'hog begins to swim and become familiar with its new environment. The polystyrene gradually falls away and the animals happily swim away to repopulate the oceans of the world.

Without any direction, incentive, gps or instruction manual the 'hog seems instinctively to know what to do. If only those higher up the food chain could be so easily encouraged.
