Does anyone want to tell me what the Cliff business was all about as I missed the weekends activity in PBO forum?

Cliff fell over the edge . . .

Post by Nick »

.
Cliff had obviously been having a major row with the idiotically named Small Boat Chump . . . on SBC's own forum, I think although I am not sure where that is.

Anyway, Cliff then replied to one of SBC's posts half way through a fairly innoccuous and pointless thread that was started with poor Racecruiser's first ever post after a year of lurking.

Cliff went utterly and completely over the top, not only somehow managing to circumvent the bad words checker by using language so bad that Keith and co had obviously omitted to include it but also threatening physical violence and saying pretty dreadful things about SBC's missus.

I have to say that it was just about the worst outburst I have ever seen on a forum; it made the legendary Steve101 look like a pussycat! I would certainly have pulled it immediately if it had been made on here.

Says something about SBC if he can wind people up that badly though.

Last time I looked Cliff was still on the YBW Members list - which is surprising - but he hasn't posted since then so I suspect he is banned.

Next sport is spotting Cliff's next incarnation on YBW I suppose. Or of course he could always sign up here, so long as he keeps it down a bit . . .

Thanks Nick, all a bit clearer now. Talking about his reincarnation, will the administrators not be able to tell from an IP address that it is the same person?

It's not quite so easy. You have apparently posted from 10 different IP addresses and Donald has used 15. Taking an educated guess I would say that Donald has posted from 3 or 4 (maybe 5) different computers/ISPs and you only 2.

It is sometimes possible so figure out multiple identities (we know who you are HRH-A) on a wee forum like this but it wouldn't be quite so straightforward on YBW with it's 27,895 registered users.

My ID will be different as the pc's on our network have different mac addresses (nothing to do with apples).

I will have two main IP addresses and the rest only occassional use. #

I was so astounded that I actually copied and pasted the text of the post into a Word document and in fact still have it . . . .

Definitely NOT suitable for publication here - or anywhere else for that matter - but available for private viewing if anyone is sufficiently prurient.

In fact you have 3 addresses with between 26 and 35 posts each and the other dozen have between 1 and 8 but 2 of the big 3 have very similar addresses.

It's dead interesting is this following someone round.

I'm on a dating site with a forum. Folk keep getting banned and come back as someone else and are left alone if they behave, but you get to recognise them after a bit.

There is a Lass in Brum who organises meets and she must have ½ dozen screen names so she can keep bumping her meet thread up the listings. Thing is she is a serial emoticon user and uses "wicked" all the time, her posts stick out like a sore thumb. To the mods it must stand out like a sore thumb.

Anyone need a date? try pleanty of fish, google.com should have it top of the shop.

Cheers Bob.

I'm very relieved to hear that. Personally I always had Claysie down for it.
