I couldn't help smiling..

after an initial WTF moment on Sunday when Silkie's tiller snapped off in my hand!
Strangely, conditions were light and no great force was being applied at the time, in significant contrast to Saturday. I was cruising in company (no, of course we weren't racing) with Fairwinds and had inexplicably held on to full main with 24 knots over the deck. This resulted in some serious two-handed tiller work but with no apparent problems.
The wry smile was at being reminded how quickly things can go wrong.. and how much fun it is trying to sort them out.
