I think it must be a panoramic picture to get that wrap around. Initially I thought the Corran or Connel bits but there were no wee islands.

I made Loch Feochan fit but then looked again and realised I'm talking out of my transom
Agree Cuan with Wullyum

Remember years ago being anchored in Ardinamir and walking over the hill to Cullipool where there was a wee cafe.

Oh yes. "You should be able to throw a digestive biscuit and hit the rock". Signed the book too.

Seems such a long time ago. Can remember had just bought my first flat and was skint. My dad's friend George Bodie offered a wee cruise on the west coast from Bellanoch on Lady Nicola of Kent he took me through the Dorlinn for the first (and only) time. 1982 I think.

My former GP and close friend Dick Jackson first introduced me to the area at that time - he bought debentures or whatever in Craobh - then lost it when they went bust but he kept his boat there SeaRowan - a Macwester Rowan Crown. We did the 1984 Scottish 3 Peaks race in a Sigma 29 (Greensleeves) chartered from Rhu and did ok but White Lightning, a Sigma 33, went on to win it. Jon Fitzgerald was helming - I think he was about 12 at the time!!. Dick subsequently bought White lighting and had some great years sailing up there - the boat always lived in Craobh and Alastair looked after her. Dick sadly died a few years ago 2003, I think, whilst sailing in the frozen North. Last time I saw Jon he was managing the marina on Kerrera - Alastair is probably still at Croabh.

My first time in Ardinamar was in 1969, when I was a teenager, crewing on a motor yacht called Marona, owned by Don Maclachlan. At the time I thought he was a very old man, which is why I was surprised to see his obituary in the Herald newspaper 35 years later. We went ashore to pay our respects to Irene, had tea, and signed the book. I got a card from her the following Christmas.
