Mebbe ...

Some use AAs, some AAAs and some have USB charging plugs. If it's AA or AAA then simplest is to keep spare batteries. But if you've got a USB charging plug then chances are it's OK but I'd read the small print carefully for both items. They should both be nominally 5V but there can be exceptions!
Typical HH VHF battery capacity is 1000 to 2000 mAh. What's the rating of your powerpack?

A while back I got a (cheap) USB powerpack from Lidl. It's rubbish. Anyone want to buy it; it's very pretty.

My HH VHF charges from a 12 V fag lighter thingy.
USB is only 5V.

I have a wee gadget that I no longer need. It is 12v input and has a switchable output - from memory about 6 diff voltages. If you want more detail please pm ne.

Thanks Pete
I've got alternative power sources so am OK - I was just wondering from a very non-technical perspective whether the red jobbie that I can plug my phone into for a charge would do for the handheld vhf.
Hows things and hows the Micro?

No worries - I dug the device out and it has a switchable output of 2, 6, 9 or 12v so probably not suitable for you anyway.
The Micro is super thanks - great wee boat. How is yours?
