Spinnaker up!

...but not for long.
Marisca choose the lull before a wee squall to hoist the kite for what would have been a pleasant reach back to JWD from Cloch earlier today.
Unfortunately a wee wet squall skooshed through so it was a case of spinnaker down!

A lot of stuttering going on. F... F.... F...
Once the kite came down Marisca creamed along at hull speed past Beaton Towers.
Must have been cold out there today.

Is it possible to upload an image or must it be hosted elsewhere?

I'm flattered that you ask me about uploading an image- I'm probably the most technically incompetent user of any forum. I did use Boatofukkit but they seem to want a lot of money nowadays so I've baled out.
Brought the little boat of Coniston today and up to Ardfern on Friday to put Claymore to bed for the winter.

It was more the wind shift allied with the strength that was the problem. What was going to be a gentle gybe onto Starboard at the Cloch turned instead into a tightish beam reach on port. Serves 2 old farts right for hoisting the thing in the first place! It was a wee bit chilly on the beat down to Kip but really nice downwind (until the squall).

Would you lot find some other thread to pollute with your witterings about cups of tea, shandy and Claymore's Claymore Claymore, please? This one was about how macho, brave, seamanlike and generally wonderful Marisca's skipper is, ok?

I thought it was pretty brave going for a drink with Claymore...and drinking is a very seaman like pastime.

Think enough said on the big floaty things in use at this time of year! They are great in light air if you are only short handed, OK in moderate air with plenty of bods. Other than those conditions they are good at biting one's rear end. Dry the beast out and pack it away until next May!
