While waiting in an airport for a flight, with a colleague, he went off to the toilet.
He came back to say that there was a sign over the rubbish bin (in good Austrian German) to ask that customers do not put their used syringes in that rubbish bin. He commented on how sad it is that they had to do that.

We swapped places, and he watched our luggage while I went. I saw, where he had not seen, the bin where syringes should be put, with an appropriate sign, and told him of that provision.

While there, and using one of the row of urinals I pondered another of those questions of life...
Why is it that some people undo their belt and trousers buttons as well as their fly zipper to use this facility, where some only undo the fly?
Having never seen any need to undo my belt for this function, I'm left pondering why some do feel a need to do so.

Is it related to the overhand grip versus underhand grip question?

Or have I gone this many decades through life to miss out on some important fact of life?

Hope I can help with the finer detail.
I wear Levi 501s with a button fly. To use a urinal I have to undo all the buttons. Not that I'm boasting that is a size thing or anything

Personally, I always thought the invention of the zip fastener was a giant step for, errmm, mankind.

I can understand undoing all the buttons, where that's the fastening method. (I also don't like buttons, though I have in the past noticed that buttons don't jump out and bite like a zip can sometimes do)

But the belt? why undo the belt?

To undo the top button, one has to undo the belt as normally the buckle covers the button.

I've long believed that the people who undo the lot just to have a pee are the product of over cautious parenting. Put simply, Mummy was avoiding having to wash Y fronts and Troosers that had been dripped on by careless boys. I now believe that the swagger and clearly over enthusiastic way in which fellow males prepare for a simple piddle is symptomatic of a complex and deep seated need to publicly interfere with themselves.
Why not go into the bog to carry out this rather pathetic display rather than subjecting us all to this over-demonstrative behaviour? I usually say something like 'Feck off into the bog you pathetic cretin'
I normally wait until I have finished but they are still in full flow....

I open the conversation in urinals by saying: "This water's cold". Got a response once - "And deep".

And other than the PITA value of the button fly.... I like the 501s. Last 2 pairs bought in Tulsa, less than half the cost in Glasgow

There is nae enough room in they wee flies tae to get the python out for a syphon, never mind coiling it back in.

You sad lot. It is because modern men, you piss stinking Y front wearing old farts, wear boxer shorts, snug fitting at that, with no Y or slot for the dick. A top exiting tadger is far easier to extract with unbuttoned trousers. The alternative is trying to force the waist band down and extract the john thomas, followed by a contortion to stop the resilient pant from springing back up in full flow, all through a small zip! This and the Brexit referendum just goes to show that old people should be kept out of site.

Just to add my penisworth, in spite of dealing with a buckle, the speed of simply pulling apart a button fly beats the zip-fiddle hands down, and this can be a saviour as we reach our twilight years.

Well - this thread has certainly raised a lot of points for consideration - personally, I'm not a boxer wearer because of the feeling of insecurity that wearing them brings. I'd rather the package was more firmly trussed and in addition, I hate the way my willie ends up sticking out way below the shorts.....
I'm glad Sahona's Penisworth was offered - I think as we get less notice nowadays, its handier to leave the bottom couple of buttons undone which is a great timesaver and can be done quite discreetly.....

Presumably those not wearing boxers wear briefs.
With briefs there three holes, one for each leg and one for the torso. Which hole do you use at the urinal? If using the leg hole, then surely there's no need to undo the belt and trouser waist band, and the fly (zip or buttons) is adequate?
