Ok, Shard and Huggy.

Here's what I propose. If we go South we will deffo be able to meet up with the 'H' meister however North is looking more attractive, to me at least.

If Nick can get one to me by Friday I'll take it. if we go north I'll proudly Fly the Blue Moment flag and pay Nick for it on my return. If we go South we'll drop it in on Huggy ourselves.

I suppose there's a third option of finding someone headed for Laganas and giving it to them to pass on.

I've PM'd Nick my home address.

To answer the original question........ We're home again (as of 14th Aug) the weather being wot it is, we'll be in for a week or so then off around the Clyde hopefully.
Only met Shard, Silkie, LJS and Aja(by car) out of all the squillions of forumites available, and didn't spot any burgees on passing traffic.
Did the canal at great expense TWICE, once to satisfy the curious, and then to avoid the interminable Southerlies, so missed out on Ghiga Islay and Jura this year.
Big discovery is the free bus service to wherever you need to go - especially Portree to Prestwick - a saving of about £140 return....
Was too close to Bo faskadale (Isle ornsay) when the tragedy happened . We have chan 0 and were impressed by professionalism and upset at the same time. A big 'down' as we'd been to Malliag by bus just a few weeks before, chatting to the guys working on the boats.
Were in the place of the wide-mouthed frog for a few days and saw a boat impersonating Silkie, but itcouldn't be - the anchor is wrong....
Best anchorage would be Wreck bay if only the passing traffic would slow down or take the main channel - I bacame a typical grumpy yotti when the mobos appeared.
Very little wild life this year - anyone agree?

I have da flag! Ta Nick.

As I say, if we go South it will be delivered to the Hugginator (or at least left on his boat if the great man isn't there). If we go North I'll buy it.

The missus says the quality is first class.

A escora nova lives in a box under the forehatch for the moment.

Yes, apart from the Tobermory otter.

Funny you say that, because we've been thinking much the same. Even early on, in our local area, we'd noticed very few seals, although we sailed passed the carcass of a very large one at the mouth of Loch a Choire a couple of months back. The press said that the fish farm people have culled about 500, but rumour has it that the real figure is much higher.

Perhaps it's been the weather, but we saw remarkably few sea birds in the Uists or in the north west. In fact, in and near Loch Torridon was about about the only place in the NW where we saw very much at all, a few porpoises, couple of basking sharks, a few seals. Also a sea eagle, or some suchlike, picking a fish out of the water. We probably saw the odd dolphin, but nothing like the numbers we would have normally expected.

Mackerel seem plentiful enough though.

Markie, been out of contact since last post - best to Huggy!

Ok, it didn't work out - we went North. (More detail later!)

I'll use paypal to chuck £16 towards Nick. Sorry guys.

Unless Huggy has an address?
