Trouble is its invariably accompanied by at least 4 alternative answers whose supports will insist are right. 192 posts later the original question has been lost in torrents of abuse.
More seriously I have seen so much nonsense offered as answers, particularly about electrical, radio and electronics, many of them downright dangerous. Oddly the more outrageously wrong the answer the more vigorously the originator would argue its merit. I gave up on it long ago.

I have the same issues with Olive.
Standing orders are forget sails, fire up Pretty Polly and get the liferaft in the water as close as possible to the immersed one.
We can do the pulling, hauling and squabbling from there - actually with the power winches and time to set things up its relatively straightforward. The liferaft gives the time.

That's the main reason I gave up even reading the PBO forum, and now haven't even looked in buttlescut or bomo for ages. If I want practical advice on a subject, without all the bickering, I look elsewhere. Take Claysie for example. I must admit I hadn't thought about getting back aboard in an emergency, must remember to re-fit that folding ladder to the transom. Though on the East coast, you may as well just wear waders and walk ashore
