Re: Drinks
Apologies for my non attendance at Scotland's premier social event of the season, I'm sorry to have missed you all. A shame.
I see this thread started in October 2011: I wonder if we need to start planning the 10th Anniversary event now? Even getting a handful together has been more difficult than herding cats so..................
..............I suggest something in December.
I hope everyone has a better year than last, that the winds are gentle and warm and that your anchors hold. Sail on.

You're the yin that was a no show last year! Always depending on Jason and Nicola's advice I'm mildly enthusiastic. I'm triple jagged, Covid passported, lateral flow tested with absolutely no social life.Ocklepoint wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 10:33 am Well, what about it?

Re: Drinks
I'd be up for it subject to all the above caveats. The Doric again? Fairly early in the week and not too close to Christmas?

Re: Drinks
Well, that was great until Omicron struck! We're a week away from the social event of the year (what goes on in the Doric stays in the Doric and far outshines the varnishing goings-on in Croabh). Unless the blessed Nicola puts the kibosh on it I intend to swab my nose (the latest tests no longer make you boak) and if the wee plastic thing says I'm ok, I'll be there at 7 o'clock(ish) if, and it's a big IF, I'm allowed out. I reserve the right to dowse any anti-vaxers in IPA to preserve my own health.
For the avoidance of doubt, IPA = Isopropyl alcohol. I'm no wasting good beer on eejits.

Re: Drinks
That was my plan too. I got given a couple of boxes of lateral flow tests after getting my booster jag, and this will be my first try at it.marisca wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:05 am Well, that was great until Omicron struck! Re: Drinks
I won't now be able to get there. Had intended, and would have been arriving from the great (as in big, not necessarily good) country to the south where I'd be Mon, Tues. But now I'm to be there Tues - Wed, and the Doric is a bit far from Bradford!
That wee diversion southwards can't be rearranged I'm afraid. There'll be catching up to do another time!

Re: Drinks
Our numbers have shrunk and, while I will miss the pub atmosphere and DaveS's smiling face, I am disinclined to brave the viral soup that inhabits the world outside. May I instead offer a virtual get together? To that end I have set up a Zoom meeting for Tuesday 7th December @ 19.30 - just click and it should work. So fill your glasses and prepare your yarns.
Warning - this is the 40 minute time-limited version. If someone has the paid-for unlimited version, please feel free to usurp me.

Re: Drinks
OK, all noted. See you virtually at 1930 tomorrow. It might be just as well: the forecast is such that there is a possibility that the trains won't run.
