Saltyjohn will insist on you buying a new Metz antenna - the shock will have certainly upset the old one!

My garage is now enhanced by:
A rather nice length of blue string that will make a lovely washing line - my old one has a tendency to stretch.
A nice stiff piece of wire with a handle - the handle says Metz on it - useful for clearing blocked sinks.
A wee wind pointy thing that will help scare the squirrels off my nuts.
A long piece of coax that I can probably splice into my neighbour's Sky dish and have Sky in the bedroom as well as downstairs.
It's funny what you find lying about at the marina.

The wind pointy thing is only good for a Centaur, the last time I saw it the no go area was something like 170°. Second thoughts, it's probably good for an Ecume de Mer too

I 'phoned Duncan yesterday and he said it would be OK - as long as I told him what I had removed so I reported back today. In truth I suspect that it is a comment on the lack of security at marinas rather than a comment on how good communication at Kip is

Well, she is cunningly disguised as a 30-year old Westerly and she's on the well-lit section of hard standing. But thanks again Pete for the update. Duncan must be wondering who this constant stream of people are asking about her!

Oh and we left the last of the anti fouling paint in the cockpit - I must remind myself to collect that as well. It should be OK for now - out of sight out of mind and all that. I'm still gobsmacked at the price of a tin, even with the discount at the till.

I know it's specialist stuff but as the adverts say - she's worth it.

If you haven't involved your insurance company you should, even if the yard accepts full responsibility and has offered to replace it in full. At the very least you are then protected to claim for a new mast should the new replacement get damaged - lightening does strike twice.

Well, the ups have finally happened, Chiron is in the water awaiting her new mast fitting this afternoon.

Only 11 weeks.

Many of the weeks I won't cry over but our usual May/June 2 weeks were worth being afloat for.

Glad to hear your news. I wonder why they rig it afloat?
If it was me, then I'd likely drop vital bits overboard. Enjoy your 2 weeks.
