What screen resolution do you have, Dave. Mine is 1680x1050 32bit. Vista Home OS. It renders fine on Explorer on the same machine.

Agree with Jim - it does strange things in Firefox eg the chandlery page shows up very messy, but fine in IE.

Works fine on my Firefox 14.0.1.

Nancy Black's deserves a wee mention under chandlers, methinks.

On the first page there is a wee weather forecast window. - since it's a sailing site should it not have wind and tide as well?

Still not right in my Firefox 14.0.1.

I was at work with very basic screen resolution - 1024x768 I think with Firefox on XP. At home now with 1920x1080 but I use IE9 here on Windows 7 which is also fine.

Works in Firefox 12.01, 13.01 and 14.01 for me with the standard settings.

I suspect that some of you have been messing with the basic browser settings or dabbling with add-ons, in which case there is not a lot I can do about it.

You can try the following:

1 Clear the cache
2 Reset Zoom
3 Reset the minimum font size
4 Reset the page style
5 Check that JavaScript is enabled and not blocked
6 Disable problematic extensions or hardware acceleration

IMO Firefox might have been excellent once but is a sh1t browser now - bloated, slow, subject to constant updates and more of a PITA in its interpretation of stylesheets than all the others. If you really don't want to use IE9 then Chrome is a lot better and a lot faster.

Thanks Ash. I think I've fixed all those now.

And thanks to everyone, you've been great. Anything else please don't hesitate to help, this really is incredibly helpful. Nothing I can do about the Firefox issues, if it works with the plain vanilla installation of Firefox that is all I can aim for. It would be interesting to know what it is in your installations that is causing it though.

Nick, don't know which FF version I use on PC, but it wasn't working right. Now on laptop with FF 12.0 - just the same problem. Standard verions of FF and no personalised settings.

I'm using FF 14.0.1 running on WinXP with a screen resolution of 1280X1024 and it looks fine. I've very few add-ons enabled: the main one is a highly useful text cache thing which is especially handy if you lose a long post into the ether.

How about a listing for David Leaver although I'm not sure whether Skippered Charter or Sea Schools would be best - probably the former with a reference to the latter to judge by the current balance of his pages.
