A valid question I tought, good, balanced, sustaining victuals are important to the modern skipper.

I have just sent this email to A&B Council:
I have recently commented on a planning application (12/00678/PP) using your online form.

The form states, "You can make a comment supporting or objecting to this planning application. Your comment will be submitted to the planning authority and immediately made available online to the public. We will not display your address, telephone number or email address to the public. "

I was accordingly surprised to find that my address was included in the version made available to the public. This is not of any consequence to me, but it seems strange that the Council's site should say one thing and do the opposite.

I think many others in Argyll will be doing the same.

I didn't see any honest folk on my postal ballot paper wott I submitted last week. That postal ballot paper didn't inspire confidence " Fold over and place in envelope" it said.

It folded OK but didn't fit in the envelope.

there is no hope...

Got an email from the council about the marina:

TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997 (AS AMENDED)
Formation of multi use/short stay transit marina, plus diesel berth, managers office, provision for small day boats/ribs and limited use for over wintering (amended scheme relative to planning permission 08/01049/DET).
Oban Bay Marine Ltd Railway Pier Oban Argyll And Bute

I acknowledge receipt of your letter/email submitting representations relative to the above.

It should be noted that your representations and letter are available for public inspection by virtue of the Freedom Of Information Act and can also be copied to all interested parties subject to Data Protection requirements. Unfortunately it will not be possible to respond directly to you on the points raised in your letter, although the points you raise will be summarised and included in the report on the application which will be available for public inspection.

I would also advise that once a final decision has been taken on the application, you shall be informed of the decision.  Due to the large number of representations which the Council receive in respect of applications, there may be a short delay in advising you of the decision, although this should not exceed a week from the date of the relevant decision.

The Planning Register which is held at Dalriada House, Lochgilphead and the Area Offices is also available for inspection by members of the public during normal working hours.

In addition the press often publish the Councils decision on applications.

Yours faithfully

So maybe the crash didn't wipe out all the comments.
Hope it is approved. Even if you don't like marinas
1. It's not in place where you can anchor so no anchorage spoiled
2. You then have a choice: to use or not to use, that is the question

Fingers crossed
